Three people were arrested in California after explosives were found in their car and on their property. It all started when police were proactively patrolling and conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations. There was a driver and passenger who claim to be sovereign citizens. A record check identified both as being prohibited from owning or possessing firearms. In their vehicle, they found live ammunition, black gunpowder, and improvised military-grade explosive device.
They also found additional explosives on their property after a search warrant was obtained. Interestingly, one of them lived at what was described as a “remote sovereign citizen compound.”
There they found more military-grade explosives, ammunition, and firearms, seemingly at another location. Three total suspects are being held without bail.
I wish they would’ve elaborated on what they meant by a “remote sovereign citizen compound.”

Update (7/11/2022): One of the three arrested has already plead guilty to bomb possession.
“David Russell, 50, pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of an explosive device greater than .60 caliber and was sentenced to 16 months in state prison, according to court records.”
The second person is still in jail on $200K bail.
“The case against a third defendant, 54-year-old Venus Mooney, has completely disappeared from court and Sheriff’s Department records.”
