Czechoslovak Citizens & Other Sovereign Stories

There is an interesting story about individuals in the Czech Republic who are being compared to sovereign citizens in the United States.

The article specifically talks about a group that calls itself the Legitimate Creditors of the Czech Republic (LVČR). They believe the Czech Republic is illegitimate because to them, the division of the Federation was invalid, and everyone is a citizen of Czechoslovakia.

Several people in this group broke into a hearing room where a court panel was taking place in a closed session on the custody of the cannabis grower. His wife is a member of the (LVČR) and they refused to leave the meeting despite being told to do so. They were very disrespectful and there was a real threat of violence.

The police were called but it didn’t stop them from delivering a summons to the judge which they signed as the “Council of Competence and Statehood Bearers for the Czech Republic” and ordered that their friend be released from custody. That same friend sent a similar threat to other individuals prior to this event and signed a decree nullifying all legal actions in the country since November 1989.

They’re causing a great deal of havoc including contacting insurance company officials requesting reimbursement of performance and complaining about the validity of insurance contracts. On at least one occasion, the clerks had to call the police.

The founder of this group appears to be Jan Macháček, a construction worker who has been a wanted person since 2019. He is considered dangerous. He describes himself as the main legitimate creditor and he has been spreading his message to hundreds of other people who also believe they are citizens of the Czechoslovakia Republic and that the government, courts, etc., are all illegitimate and should be handing over property to them.

According to the Center against Hybrid Threats at the Ministry of the Interior: “The worldview of legitimate creditors is strikingly similar to the ideology of SCM. At the same time, due to the central idea of the illegitimacy of the existing system, it inherently creates conflict potential for its followers against any state authorities, including the security forces, whose activities they may perceive as an illegal threat against which it is legitimate to ‘defend’ themselves, by any means,” the security forces warn.”

More must be done to prevent these ideas from continuing to spread.
