Rebecca Ellen Kirschenbaum, a sovereign citizen, was recently convicted of three felony charges. These included abducting minors, concealing her children’s whereabouts, and endangering her children’s welfare.

Kirschenbaum mostly refused to speak in court. She did say that she was “coerced” and that she maintained her own governance in according with the Uniform Commercial Code.

At one point, she told the court: “Blood is flowing and flesh is alive. I am a living woman. I want you to get rid of this whole problem.”

The DA said that Kirschenbaum was being advised by someone in the sovereign citizen movement on this case. She apparently was told that remaining silent would lead to the charges being dismissed.

I wonder if she was a follower of David Straight?

Whatever the case may be, it was bad advice and now she is facing a lengthy prison sentence. Sentencing guidelines indicate that she serve a minimum of 25 months.

Kirschenbaum was first arrested in 2020 for allegations that she was not properly caring for her two sons. Child abuse was suspected. Sentencing will take place later in the year.
