A follower of Romana Didulo, who was recently arrested for threats, was himself arrested in Quebec for making threats about his daughter’s school. He was said to have posted the threat in a private chat room where followers of Didulo meet and apparently engage in violent rhetoric. The threat was fairly detailed and was focused on his daughter’s school that was offering vaccination to their students. It has since been removed.
The most disturbing part of this threat may be that the police only learned of its existence after seeing a post about it on the CBC website.
“The SPL took this threat seriously and immediately opened a case. Investigators quickly identified a suspect and proceeded to arrest him on December 2. The latter was met by investigators then released with conditions, he will appear in court later.”
This is an excellent question that deserves an answer:
Can we talk about this? "In a press release, Laval police said they were alerted to the post by the CBC article."
So….police are relying on media to report calls for violence, not monitoring the chat/posts themselves? https://t.co/mAcE4Gp6Mn
