Sovereign Citizen Sues Community College Police Officers

In reading through court records, I came across this case.

Police employed at the Quinsigamond Community College pulled over a man in September 2021 who was traveling in his “private automobile” who says it was unfair because there was no corpus delicti (i.e. evidence that a crime has been committed) or breach of commerce. The driver maintains that he was not engaged in commercial activity and thus has a right to travel in his private automobile (no he doesn’t). He accuses the police of:

  • Conspiring against his rights
  • Kidnap (sic) the corpus
  • False imprisonment
  • Arresting without corpus delicti
  • Trespassing on his liberty
  • Search and seizure of private property
  • Forcing their jurisdiction on him

The police presumably arrested him, removed his speciality plate and did not give it back. He is requesting $2,000,000 for these violations. All of his documents were notarized and included his own personal seal.

These are common claims made by sovereign citizens. They have never worked in a court of law.

This case is ongoing but I suspect it will eventually be dismissed.
