A Deep Dive Into The Sovereign Citizen Movement in Sweden

This is really interesting, longform article about the problems Sweden is having with sovereign citizens and related groups. Among other things, they start by focusing on Max Winter, one of two individuals behind The Freedom Movement and the World Freedom Alliance, both of which are sovereign citizen in nature. He’s also well-known for being arrested after anti-vaxx demonstration.

This article is interesting because it goes into detail about the nature of the sovereign citizens in Sweden. They do differ somewhat compared to sovereign citizens in the United States, though they largely have adopted many of their ideas.

Common law, as they understand it, is philosophical. It is based on the idea that everything should be viewed from the perspective of either good or evil. They believe there is a universal truth and that it is our job to see the truth. The higher your vibration frequency, the better able you are to see the truth.

Apparently, some Swedish sovereigns derive their ideas from an individual named Mark Passio who gives lectures about natural law. Mr. Passio is a known anarchist and is a very strong proponent of natural law. He argues that people have been led to believe in the idea of relativism as opposed to truth. He teaches his followers that natural law is truth.

It also seems that many of their ideas come from David Wynn Miller who believes strongly in the importance of grammar and in his own version of the English language. Not surprisingly, the Swedish sovereign citizen movement believes in the notion of the Universal Post Union (UPU)-The World Postal Association and that its member states to function as a contracting entity for those who believe in the sovereign citizens ideology. There’s no basis to this; a few years ago the UPU dismissed this notion in a press release.

Also interesting is the discussion of a woman who is attempting to establish a free zone she calls NewEarth Eco-Community, a “physical oasis for free-thinking people, founded in natural law… [where] as a sovereign individual, each man or woman is his / her own common law jurisdiction – law that is common to oneself.” Their model for the community comes from Sasha Stone, was connected to David Icke. They even have a law academy which offers information on how to engage in illegal claims of land rights, etc.
