Christopher Eugene Guilford (Nevada): Christopher Guilford was indicted for filing a false tax return, leading to a $1.2 million IRS payout. His defense claims he is mentally incompetent, but the government argues his actions align with sovereign citizen ideology—a rejection of government authority often marked by disruptive legal tactics.

Kevin Massengale v. San Bernardino County: Kevin Massengale filed a civil rights lawsuit after being arrested for fraudulent license plates on a “privately owned vehicle.” He alleged his arrest violated his free speech and was retaliation for recording officers. The court dismissed his case, connecting it to sovereign citizen arguments about jurisdiction and government authority.

Tchou Tchouma Tchoupitoulas Nation Case (Louisiana): Three self-proclaimed members of the Tchou Tchouma Tchoupitoulas Nation face forgery and false lien charges. Representing themselves, they claimed immunity from state laws, but their arguments were dismissed as frivolous and tied to sovereign citizen ideologies.

Davon Williams (Drug-Trafficking): The court prohibited Davon Williams from making sovereign citizen arguments, invoking the UCC, or referencing maritime law during his trial. Williams, charged with firearm possession and drug trafficking, was barred from introducing ideology-driven defenses irrelevant to the charges.

Samantha Siong Ricks: Ricks, a QAnon and sovereign citizen adherent, was convicted nearly a year ago for abducting her 6-year-old daughter from DHS custody in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was acquitted of firearms charges. Recently, Ricks has filed sovereign citizen documents in court, including one claiming a separate jury awarded her $10 billion. Ricks is reportedly “Bible married” to Michael “Lewis Arthur” Meyer, leader of the militia group Veterans on Patrol (VOP), further tying her to fringe anti-government movements.
